Four artists with a shared history of common ground explore connection to place, the concept of feeling at one with a landscape, and the ways these bring us together.

Through their works in paper, silver and photography, and woven with the written word, the artists each interpret the land and nature as the core of belonging.  The exhibition ponders vast landscapes with the minutiae of life they nurture, and the way these are carried in our identities and personal stories.

This August we’re celebrating 5 years in business here at The Corner Store Gallery. And what better way to honor such an achievement than to bring you a fabulous group exhibition of incredible artists that we admire.

AUSTRALIANA is a group exhibition featuring the work of seven artists from across NSW and the ACT.  Each artist has created work that celebrates the diversity and unique beauty of this land we call home.  From our iconic flora and fauna to the history and stories of our first peoples. Our scenic landscapes and countryside to the seemingly mundane streets of suburbia.  A snapshot of iconic Australian imagery, through the eyes of seven fantastic artists from different walks of life.

Jan, Rita and Genevieve crossed paths over the years through French classes, University and TAFE connections. Their journeys recently intersected again through art and they revelled in discovering their shared passion for interpreting the beauty of nature through colour, light, stillness and movement. In this exhibition, they bring together a rich array of techniques and forms as they recount moments from their travels and experiences in their individual and unique styles.

Madeline Young has a lot of art, jewellery, and other handmade goodes she'd like to move along!  Years of making have somewhat "clogged up" her studio and it's well and truly time for a "garage sale"!!!

In creating my illustrations, I love using water colours, as its wonderful texture conveys a dreamlike quality that I want my artworks to exude. When making objects & accessories, I am drawn towards natural materials such as textiles, wood, and leather – Jacqueline Chan.
