Thanks to our friends at Whiteley Ironside & Shillington Solicitors AND De Salis Wines in Orange, there will be two prizes up for grabs: the overall winner, selected by Gallery Director Madeline Young, will receive $1000 in cash sponsored by Whiteley Ironside and Shillington Solicitors. There will also be a People’s Choice Award with voters choosing their favourite work announced at the close of the exhibition, the winner will receive a Magnum of 2021 Lofty Pinot Noir from De Salis Wines.

Artists were invited to submit 3 artworks as a small body of work to be judged by a panel of experts. The winner of our Mini Series Art Prize will receive a solo exhibition with us here at The Corner Store Gallery in 2024. We also award two Highly Commended awards and artists become part of our stable. This competition is open to emerging and professional artists from Australia who have not had a solo exhibition with us before. The exhibition will include the most exciting and original artworks submitted for selection from artists and designers from all over Australia.

Ana Anderson is a contemporary Australian artist, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (2007) Honours from the National Art School. Ana’s work focuses on the Australian landscape and our connection to nature, exploring the line between reality and abstraction.

In this body of work Ana represents the places of solace that she often retreats to, they are the quiet spaces where she finds connection to something larger, where she can escape and just breathe, they are the spaces between the trees. These compositions were created with multiple layers, tuning into the works in a push and pull intuitive process, creating a balance between reality and abstraction.

All artists submitted 3 artworks as a preview of their solo show.

There were 159 entries with only 35 finalists selected. This exhibition will display the best of the best and winners will be announced on Saturday 18th September.

The Corner Store Gallery would like to announce an exciting new Art Prize. We’re on the lookout for new and exciting artists to exhibit in our beautiful space. Artists were invited to submit 3 artworks as a small body of work to be judged by a panel of experts. The winner of our Mini Series Art Prize will receive a rent free solo exhibition with us here at The Corner Store Gallery in 2020.

34 finalists were selected from 115 entries. This exhibition will showcase 3 artworks from each finalist. They come from all over Australia, they work across all mediums, they cover all subjects..... It’s going to be spectacular!
