Join ceramic artist Emma Small for a hands-on hand-building ceramics workshop at The Corner Store Gallery in Orange, NSW. This intimate and relaxing session is designed for anyone who wants to explore the tactile and meditative process of working with clay while enjoying great company, conversation, and creativity.

What to Expect
This workshop introduces the fundamental technique of pinch pot building, a simple yet versatile method of working with clay. Under Emma’s guidance, you will:
Learn how to form pinch pots and shape them into bowls and vases
Experiment with different decorative techniques
Select from a range of glazes to finish your pieces
After the workshop, Emma will dry, fire, and glaze your ceramics before a final kiln firing. Your completed pieces will be ready for collection from The Corner Store Gallery in six weeks, fully glazed and functional for your home or as a thoughtful handmade gift.
About Your Instructor
Emma Small discovered her love for ceramics in high school, with her HSC major work exhibited in Art Express and selected for an international exhibition. After a 25-year career in occupational therapy and disability services, Emma returned to ceramics as a creative refuge. She was a finalist in The Corner Store Gallery’s Mini Series Art Prize in 2023 and now runs clay workshops and sells her pieces across NSW. She continues to refine her skills at the National Art School in Sydney.
